It’s a quiet morning and I am loading kayaks onto the roof of our truck. A neighbor walking his dog notices me pulling a serpentine tangle of nylon straps while balanced on the rear tire. As he gets closer he says “Don’t you all ever stay home on a weekend?” I reply “not when the water is flowing, snow is snowing or rocks are calling to be climbed.”
Living in Boulder, Colorado is a curse and a blessing. There is always something to do in the outdoors. Paddling takes up most of our time and on average we spend 70-85 nights camping each year and many of those are on the banks of a river.
